3 good things

This exercise has been proven to help people tune in to the good things in their lives.

This activity is simple to do, but you get the most benefit from it when you do it consistently.

Try to do it for a few days back-to-back

  • Every night, before bed, write down 3 things that went well for you over the day.

  • These things can be big (“I handed up a big assignment”, “I won the lotto”); or they can be small (“I met a friend for coffee”).

  • Try to give each of the 3 things the following structure:

    Give it a title.

Write down what happened in as much detail as possible.

Write down how it made you feel – at the time, and how you feel now thinking about it.

Write down what you think this happened – what caused this event?
